Apply for Test Access

Approval is required in order to access certain tests within the NIH Toolbox^® and NIH Baby Toolbox^® apps and their associated documentation on this website.

NIH Toolbox and NIH Baby Toolbox tests are developed and made available in accordance with the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing developed jointly by the American Psychological Association, American Educational Research Association, and the National Council on Measurement in Education (2014).

Consistent with these standards, test users must have the appropriate knowledge, skills, training, and experience to responsibly use our measures. “Test users” are those persons responsible for the selection, administration, scoring and interpretation of tests and the communication of results.

Using your access

Once approved, you will receive a code to unlock tests within the mobile app. You will also have access to the corresponding test materials in your online account.

Like other tests in each app, B-level and C-level tests can be viewed for free, while scoring and reporting require a subscription.
